When hope is harder to find than heroin, the search for answers becomes addictive.

About The Movie

The story of opioid addiction is being told and lived all over southwest Ohio, stressing the systems in place to support addicts and their families.  Dayton and Cincinnati both made the top ten of a list counting recorded overdoses.  Since Ohio has been leading the way in overdoses, there is also the potential for us to lead the way in recovery.

We talked with families, doctors, policy makers, civil servants, and innovators who are trying to maintain hope in the face of tremendous loss and startling statistics. They tell the stories of their work and address the major questions raised by the heroin crisis.  Where opioid addiction tends to cause isolation and shame, the support and involvement of the community may be the only lasting antidote.
